How come the paint is flaking like that, I had my front bumper cover replaced a year and a half ago and the paint started to crack so I had them redo it. The service guy said they didn't use enough flex agent in the paint first time, I'm thinking yours was re-done in the past for whatever reason but it wasn't a professional job. I have never done body work myself but I would say you have to fill in those black areas before painting or strip it all done and then paint.

last winter front bumper was replaced and painted, week after that i rubbed a ice snowbank and was solid ice so my bumper just cracked like it did and the paint flaked off like that, maybe didnt dry properly, car maybe stayed indoors for half a day then was put outside in -30 weather, prolly cant take it back now but even if i did, the crack wouldnt be covered but maybe the paint?

rear bumper crack if from previous owner, backed into a bike rack in the winter, pretty much just tapped it and it cracked like that lol, fibre glass brittle when -30 lol..

Your bumper is urethane, fiberglass and it would be worse. If I were you I'd skip the Duplicolor stuff and get some VIN matched paint, lightened to match the rest. The Duplicolor is in the general area of that color, and will be off and look goofy, plus most of that stuff says only for certain sized areas, like a nickel or quarter. Not sure what paint is for you, but for more than enough for one bumper it costs me $20 for VIN matched, plus the flex agent to add to it. You also need clearcoat and possibly primer. It'll be a little more, but will look a hell of a lot better than touch up paint.

id get vin matched but dealerships here dont sell it as a spray, they sell these little tubes, and its not a spray, its just like touch up paint, unless some special place that makes it for ya or something, im in canada, anyone know where to go?

i went to dealership today and asked, they gave me codes if i find a place that can like make it for me lol, my car is 81U WA8774

when i went to duplicolor site, u can do big areas, they had video which loooked alright but yeah no idea if matches, when i went to canadian tire today, they had tons colours for GM paint codes

You mean paint code? Your paint color isn't in the VIN.

Duplicolor sprays are a pretty close match. I sprayed the third brake light and front valance on my truck with it.

i walked in and asked for paint, he asked paint code and i said i didnt know, so then he said look in trunk and well i cant cause my sub box, but then he said he can also get it from my vin number so i went and got that and then he gave me 81U WA8774

Yeah, they probably have the same type of program as the local Auto Value here. They put your VIN into the database and it comes up with the colors needed, shot amounts of that color, and alternate number. Any parts store that has a paint area should be able to do it.

Your paint code is WA8774. Most GM applications are WA then four numbers. I believe GM puts thier codes either in the inside of the door or the glovebox.

A rule of thumb is trunk, door, glovebox

Ford - door

Dodge under the hood on the radiator support.
