well.. up until a month ago i was driving a 1994 ford explorer with a 5" lift... a lady pulled out in front of me and now its totalled.. i got the check.. went out and bought a 1999 grand am gt!

im really new to the whole *car* business.. haha.. im used to fixing big trucks and 4-wheeling.. but.. i LOVE my new car!

i bought it with a cat-back exaust with dual tips.. i think 2.5" tubing? its also got a k&n drop in filter and taylor spark plug wires. im not really sure what else to do to it... being that intake and exhaust are the two first mods people do. any thoughts? please feel free to comment or give me ideas to improve!

thanks for looking!

An old thread, but a lot of information in there for the 99+ 3400 Grand Ams.

It lists ported and polished intake manifolds (both upper and lower) and a throttle body upgrade.

Another great complement to a new exhaust is a cold air intake. The drop-in filter is good, but for around 80 dollars or so (half of that cost is a K&N cone filter) you can make your own shiny cold air intake.

Congrats on the new ride though, IMO the red 99+ 2-door GTs were the sexiest of sexy. That, and you have one of the best V6 engines that GM has put out in a long time.
