Guys and gals....next time you detail your cars, try spraying some tire foam on the insides of the wheel wells. It covers up all the road grime, and makes the inner splash panels look new again for a lil while. It really does make a difference from a distance! Just my $.02.

That scares me b/c if it got on the tread of your tires it could cause slipage. ??

... personally, I love the look of a clean car with CLEAN and SHINEY wheel wells ... typically, when the car is still wet, I spray ArmourAll up underneath the fenders and let it sit (except on the front were I will dampen a rag with more ArmourAll when the car is all finished and wipe off the excess) :)

It doesn't hurt to spray some simple green, 409, etc up in there while you're washing the car and scrub it out with a brush to make it really clean. Then put on the shiny stuff after you're done. Just try to keep it off of the paint because it could strip the wax. When I wash my car, I always scrub out the wheelwells and wipe them with armor-all/tire-foam. This might seem over-picky, but once in awhile shoot some Simple Green on the back sides of your tires and up underneath your car and rinse it out thoroughly and you'll be suprised how much gunk and brown water comes off. I'm a very detail oriented person when it comes to my vehicles...lol IMO, you can wax your car all day, but if I can see dirty wheelwells and dirty door jambs, its nasty!!

This has to be one of the most overlooked while washing your car. After you wash your car, dry out the door-jambs and wipe out all the dirt that has accumulated as far as you can reach in there...it makes a big difference. Dont forget the trunk area either!!
I see some very good tips in here

I personally might be over pickey, but I do all these things every time I wash - the wheel wells, the door jams, the underside of the trunk and the hood, as well as underneath the rear with the exhaust. Also, every once in a while, slide yourself all the way underneath the car with a dampened rag of armour-all and wipe down the entire underside of the chassis. It really does protect it if you live in a climate with lots of snow and rain. It protects against rot. I've been doing this since I bought the car new, and I think it really helps.

im very picky about car cleaning too, but i dont remember ever cleaning the chasis with armor all. i do clean the underbody often with all purpose cleaner. i even take the tires and rims off and clean the backside of them. i have cleaned the engine bay with turtle wax formula 2001 (the same thing as armor all only better IMO, not as greasy) and whitewall cleaner. so on and so forth. i could write three pages of one post with my list of everything i clean when i detail a car. its kind of sad to think about it
what do u mean by the door jambs?

when you open your door you shouldn't be able to see very little, if any, dirt and grit
