View Full Version : Is Goo Gone safe?

So a trip to the carwash ripped one of my rainguard things.. So I decided to just remove them both but there is some goo from the adhesive still on the pillar an whatnot.. would goo gone be safe on the car? Thanks

It's ironic.. I wasn't a fan of those when I got the car, but left em on.. and now that it's gone I want em back.

Goo-gone is the top tool for debadging.

I've used it for many years without an issue. Just wash and re-wax the area when you're done. :)

Same here. I have used it so many times on my car and other objects and they haven't damaged anything. Just make sure you wash the area with soap ASAP.

I preffer WD40 for adhesive removal

Here is a tip, it's not usually the product that you use to remove adhesive, it's what you use to wipe it clean that does the most damage.

Make sure you use a clean soft 100% cotton towel, and if you need to scrub, don't do it too hard.

I'm 'ifffy' on microfiber towels. Yes they do pick up alot of stuff cause of all the tiy micro little peices, but they also can do more damage. Trust me I made the mistake already on a brand new motorcycle. It's really a toss up.
