Wasn't sure exactly where to put this post, so I apologize if I put it in the wrong forum.
I just bought my 3rd Grand Am today. The first one I owned was a plain-jane '98 SE. However, after I was laid off from my job I lost that car. My second was a '95 "fixer-upper". It ended up needing more fixing than anything...
So, today I bought a '99 Grand Am SE with 159,000 miles on it and am ultra impressed already. It's not 100%, but pretty close. So far on the list are: headlight lenses, A/C recharge, probably a new stereo and possibly a trunk lock (key doesn't work in it, but fine in other locks).
I paid a total of $3,495 for the car, which, according to kbb.com, is about $1,600 below book. I also basically ripped him off with my trade-in: '95 Dodge Stratus with 58,000 miles on it. I'd owned that car for 5 months, and in that time it was in the garage for all but 4 days that I actually was able to barely drive it. There was some major electrical problems with it and I just couldn't stand to put another dime into it.
Anyway, again, just wanted to say "Hi" to everyone and let's hope this ride is a good one :D
