new power steering pump

Had a new power steering pump installed 2000 SE1 3400 in Feb, steering is fine but pump whines. Garage says this is normal? Fluid level ok. I think this is BS anyone else?

i put in a new pump that made noise its probbaly cause they didnt bleed or flush it (not sure what the correct word is)

Run it for a week. Mine wined for a few days after hose changes and proper bleeding by dealership. The noise will go away or the pump will die. Keep your receipts.

after installing a new pump and filling the fluid , the only way to bleed is by doing itself.. so start the car turn the wheel all the way each way and look at the fluid if it looking kinda milkshake like and have it sit about 3 min - 5min and if it goes clear its working out the air.. after about 10 times it will get rid of all the air

Needs to break in, give it up to 500 miles.
