I've got a fuel leakfrom the Schraeder valve. Can the valve be taken out like a bicycle or the whole threaded unit?

To answer my own question that may help someone later....
The valve can be taken out with a Shraeder valve removal tool (same as a tire) but the whole threaded unit cannot....it is factory sealed in there.
I removed and cleaned the valve and the leak stopped.

Hey, Im taking that valve out of my car to install a fuel pressure gauge. How much fuel did you spill when you took it out? Should I find another way to depressurize the rail first?

If you let your car sit for 5 minutes almost nothing will come out. Even if you press the valve in just after you turn the car off, a rag will be enough to soak it up.

Hitting the valve after driving only gives me a half inch circle of gas onto the rag. It's probably the easiest way to depressureize the fuel system because it takes one tool and less than a minute to do.
