So many groves in the body. I spent 2 hrs taking the wax off, then wound up spraying it down and its still there.

I invite you to come wax my '93 F-150 Supercab. I washed, clay-bared, and waxed it a few weeks ago and it took about 7 hours to do a thorough job.

Personally, I feel the Grand Am GT's are much easier to wax than the Grand Am SE's (99+, at least), because the ribbings are farther apart on the GT's.

But I agree, the front bumper and sides of an SE are a ***** to clean.

If you guys hate waxing them you can always bring it to me :)

It is so satisfying when you step back after you wipe off that last bit of wax and unveil the masterpiece after a great detail. Ahhh can't wait for some nicer weather!

yes, mine took forever to wax. i need to do it again, but augh....such a pain. May be a stupid question, but you dont apply the wax to the whole thing, than remove it, right? you do it section by section? i know i keep finding spots i missed from last time, but with winter coming, and ROAD SALT(:2up: ) i need to wax it. oh yeh, and the Mr. clean bull crap left water spots all over my car. rip off.

I love waxing mine.... *usually take a crap load of pics and post em all overe here* when i do.... but for me atleast the pride of knowing you got a shiny black car around here with decent chromed rims from the factory....

either that or you might as well try keeping a 25000 dollar car looking it.

i'd take a buncha pics of mine, but it's so basic. dont even have rims...i'd kill for a GT though, but i cant afford it :( IS there a wax everyone can agree on that does an awesome job? I just bought some turtle wax platinum series, and have yet to use it.

hehe... I don't need ribbing! (LOL)

I know the ribbing was a trademark feature, but I honestly don't miss it.

Maybe I'm weird, but I don't mind doing a little extra work. It's a matter of personal pride. Besides, I spend 3-4 hours on Saturday afternoon polishing, and then the car spends all night gleaming under the streetlights while I'm cruising. :D

If you think the 1999+ sucks, you should try a 1992-1995.

The ribs on those are a BITCH.

I dont understand why its taking people so long.
You should be able to wax and remove it in under 45 minutes and thats really taking your time.

Thats got nothing to do with it IMO.

I just did Ajaxus GA, it took me under 10 minutes to run an AIO (paint cleaner/sealant) over the surface and he removed it in under 10 minutes (he was slow , sorry AJ). Then another 5 minutes to run a pure sealant (spray) over the whole car. Even if i used a conventional wax/sealant (non spray) it still wouldnt take more than 10 minutes to apply and 5 minutes to remove.

All your doing is wipeing down the painted surfaces with a chemical product, i dont understand why its takeing people so long.

:agree: the stupid rib tings on the side of my old 93 were a bitch... most of the time i would just do the top and forget the individual ribs. I remember when i clayed her for the first time after 13 years, those ribs made that claybar turn black...

On the Corolla since i have the S model it adds the body kit which sucks because it picks up all fo the road debris, when i clayed her a few weeks ago it picked up crap, also to wax on her the body kit is a hassle..
