Im considering a HID kit, what i wanna know is if the kit is a single filament (being my 99 has dual filament bulb). If so then id lose high beams correct? Any way to get high beams? Any help is greatly appreciated :)

yes you will loose high beams. i think the only way to keep high beams is ot get the projector headlights off ebay. If i remember correctly, they have a separate high beam bulb.
otherwise, i think theres some kits that offer a solution by adding a high beams bulb, but im not sure where its mounted. try a search, not sure if youll come up with much tho.

Its possible to keep the high beams, but you would need to modify the housing and the harness to use something other than 9007. (I'd think 9005/9006 would work).

From the pics ive seen HIDs are bright enough that i wouldnt need my high beams right? I could just use them all the time?

i have the pilot HIDS... you should not be buying this kit for the high beam option as the high beam bulbs are crap...and the way they are mounted to the hid bulb... they just dont light up anything.... its a waste... the HIDS themselves are alright

Hmmm thats the first time Ive heard anything bad about them. Other people ive talked to said they are pretty good.

Better off getting projector housings or do a projector retrofit. Grand Am halogen housings are not made for HID.

i agree... its just a pain in the ass to do a custom retrofit... hopefully w/ these new ebay headlights projectors...it will be easy to swap out the crappy projectors and put some badass ones in there :)

That is what you want, a bi-xenon 9007 setup. Its what I have and it works perfectly. The bulb is mechanical, so it rotates to project the light differently, rather than switching off and turning on another one, perfect for signaling other drivers.
EDIT: Forgot to mention that it is a single bulb that requires no modifications to the headlight housing.
