you wont get an exact mach unless the paint supplier can account for fadding. sand your old clear coat off, prime, and you should be ok with just a spray bomb and clear

No need to go all the way through your clear coat.Wash it down w/ wax & grease remover & abraid the entire wing w/ atleast 320 grit or finer, then wash it down again, just to be safe & tack it off w/ a tack cloth. (there's no need to prime unless you break through the paint all the way) - That's the prep portion... Now as far as the paint goes, assumeing it is not too faded, just take your paint code to your local supply shop. If it is somewhat faded, take the car w/ you. Many of todays supply shops can add flattener to adjust the paint to your sunfade. I have a "prophet" which takse 5 tiny snapshots, if you will of the paint & averages all 5 shots out, I then load the data into my computer & it gives me the paint code for whatever brand of paint I want to use & it also adjusts the formula for fade. too bad you can't have access to one but they are moslty used in body shops & I doubt any will take the time to do it for you if your gonna paint it yourself. But hey, there are a couple of supply shops here in town that have thier own Prophets, maybe you can find one in your aea that has one too, if they deal PPG they might. But like I said, just take the car w/ you if it's faded & if the guy knows what he's doing, he should be able to flatten it to a degree that will suit your needs.
If you need any painting pointers, I'm here but it is a time learned skill, meaning, it's easy to screw something up untill your really used to it. Good ludk!

If your car is green, your paint code is more then likely 204c ( the paint code is located in the trunk under the spare tire cover on the production tag on the last line starting with a wa # ) The spoilers always do this, the clear coat fades out and has to be removed. For the best results with a high metalic color you might want to take it to a body shop for an estimate. To save some money you can sand it yourself with 320-400 sand paper and make as smooth as posiable & it will save you a few dollars.
You could paint it with a spray can but it will not be near as nice as a shop could do with the proper equipment. Depending on your finical situation, that should be the decideing factor. Good luck!

96, was there a paint prob w/ all the last gen spoilers? Guess I've never ran across one. If so what are you speaking of? Is the clear flakeing, checking, oxidizeing, etc.? Because clear cannot fade. I've seen alot of older GM's & some Ford's have a prob. w/ the clear flakeing off due to poor component compatibility between the base & clear. Is that what you might be speaking of?
