Tint

I went to my local tint shop and they suggested that I do 50% on the front windows and maybe 15% or 5% on the back windows. He said it would look very clean with 50% and 15%. What is your opinion and I have a black GAGT.

I have 35% on the front and 17% on the back and it looks pretty good on my black gt.

15% in the back and rear sides, and 25% on the front windows.

I have 20% on all the wondows on my civic..its dark but not dark enough to where its impossible to see inside...just enough privacy. Seeing out from the inside isn't an issue either. 5% is rather hard to see out of at night.

I have 15% on my jeep front windows to match the rears. Just a hair darker than 20, but still no issues to see out of.

i have a 2 door with 2.5 in the rear and 20 in the front, personally i wanted to go with limo (2.5) all around but since i live in michigan the cops are already on my ass, if i can figure out how to do attachments i will post up a pic

well boys and girls, here it goes.

5% is hard to see out of at night, but it isnt impossible. I have 5% all around, and it does okay to see out of at night because I use a low reflectivity film. depends also on how bright your interior is with lighting and such. I had 20% on my car, and i really enjoyed it. i like the 5% during the day betterthough.

My 1 piece of advice is this... follow your states tint law. If the shop guy was saying 50%, i'm assuming you have a law allowing for a very light VLT film, or a law that doesnt allow for film like Michigan. I tint cars with a film on the front windows, but I try to talk people into 35% or lighter for safety reasons.

I would say 35% front/sides and 20% on the back window. Comes out pretty even with the sun shinning on the windshield.

If you're a law abiding citizen (who is these days?) or don't have much money for tickets, go with the lowest legal tint. If you don't care about breaking the law and have money for tickets (depending on the boredness of your local police dept.), I'd go with 5% all the way. I personally don't like different tints on different windows, I prefer them to all be the same darkness. Another drawback of having darker than legal tint though is a lot of tint places won't give you a receipt for illegal tint, so if you ever have a problem with the tint you're on your own.

getting it done today. I am going 50% on front and 15% on back windows. Thanks for all the input. I went a little below the legal limit. Legal limit is 70% on front and any% on back on windows. Hopefully it comes out good. Another question is do they remove the stickers in the back that say something about the child system or somthing. I also had a made in michigan sticker in the window too. Hoepfully they will take em out because they look dumb.

thats really weird how the legal limit is 70. in georgia its 35. i think mabey they have inverted their numbers or something, cus 70% tip by my understanding would be....no tint.
i have 20% all around on mine and i wish i would have gone with 15% just to make it a little darker, but 20% keeps me from getting pulled over cus the cop would notice 15 but not quite 20.

use your cellphone camera and e-mail it to yourself. or if you have bluetooth just bluetooth it to computer. but before you do any of that, hit your mother for loosing a nice camera.
