Not sure that I have seen that before or not ... not too bad ... certainly unique, IMO :)

Looks pretty good. What kind of muffler you got on there?

How's it look from the back? Where are you located? The downside to side exhaust is that in winter, it can freeze your back tires sometimes, and your panels could end up discolored. Do you have inspections in your state? I know some places won't pass you with exhaust ending before the back tires because fumes can come into the passenger compartment at times, such as idling with the back windows down. Other than that, it looks pretty good.

Iam located in Northern Wisconsin, not to concerned with the back tires freezing up during winter cuz I have a heated garage, its just a glass pack but it sounds nice and gives a nice thrust on the bottom end, and from the back well i dno but there is some civics that could tell you

06-02-2007, 05:20 PM
and for the discoloring and fadeing i have a double rolled tip for less heat and also i doubled up on some heat tape

taysgt
06-02-2007, 05:32 PM
Does anyone know if that is a law in wisconsin, i dont want to gain heat from the po's, i'am not to worried around here since everyone has straight pipes and stacks like myself i have only three feet of pipe of my headers on my mud truck

Eh, I don't really like it.. I guess it's just not how I envisioned it.. And I'm curious about the back too, I think it will be too empty

The pictures arent the greatest either cuz I was in a cramped garage let me take a few outside shots later

i like it better when its built into the body like ive seen before, but its still unique for ga's. however, the back must look like crap without any tips showing...

Bro you have an SE, its alot different, there aren't two clear openings for exhaust on SE's, unlike GTs

Seeing how there are holes for it doesnt mean that tips have to be there. Ever seen a T/A will axle dumps?? They look amazing with no tips sticking out.

I would look into making some NASCAR style tips . The long, flat ones that tuck up closer to the body.

What is meant by "it can freeze your back tires sometimes"? I've made side exhausts on a couple of cars and never had any problem with them

Yeah I'am looking at some diffrent tip styles, and Iam going to work on tucking it up better on monday

It is dual exhaust right??

taysgt
06-03-2007, 03:57 PM
it will be dual tomarrow, My buddy and I were going to just run dual glasspacks out the back but then we decided to try this and we kinda threw it together to see what people would have to say, and if it was cool, then we are goin to run dual sides

Have you ever seen a camel with six legs? Who gives a crap....I dont care what T/A's look like, what im saying is that in my opinion, GT's would look odd without tips poppin' out the back end.

Not bad but I would be concern what the back looks like without exhaust tips since it is cutout for them.

Also hope the exhaust fumes don't turn your stomach sitting in rush hour traffic.

Yes I have MANY times and it looks lame. Looks unfinished and empty. Nothing like having two big VOIDS in the rear bumper.

taysgt

It doesnt really look that terrible from the back but, I just ordered a lowering kit and with that on, my exhaust will be to low so, I think Iam going to run duals outta the back like planned, if I cant get it tucked up more.

taysgt
06-03-2007, 11:51 PM
sure the back looks empty but If you seen this in real life and not pictures you would think it looked really mean, and when Iam driving up and down streets people are looking at the side of my car, and for the back go's only few people get stuck behind me to really stare at it

For the longest I had no exhaust on my eclipse with the Blitz Body kit on it with a space for pipes on each side of the bumper and it looked stupid.

However, I do agree with bballr4567 about it being his choice and what he likes. Personally IMO as long as you like it thats all that matters because you own it. I would switch tips if it were my car, but since its not do what you feel bro. Your off to a good start with the car though. I think it looks great so far. Rims, System etc. Keep it up.

Dont let the comments here bother you if someone says they dont like it. Take it as feedback and move on.

Point being, as long as you like it thats all that matters man. its your car..
Just my thoughts on the situation

HOw about tips that look like this

Blackhawk
06-04-2007, 11:08 PM
Jim, he meant any vapor from the exhaust going onto the tire at idle or whatever and freezing onto it. It probably only happens if you idle alot and then turn the engine off. Not sure where he picked it up as I haven't heard it around here but it may be a good thing not to have the exhaust going directly onto the tire.

you should go with flat rectangle tips and have them come out through the side skirts or right under the side skirts,

coupe
06-07-2007, 01:26 PM
OK OK OK this is what *i* would do.

Make it dual, so they come out BOTH sides. Experimant with different tips till find some that look good, what ya got sucks. This is gonna be the hard part.

Then i would take my dremel and cut out the rear diffuser to get rid of the *voids*.

voila.....bad ass

If you're going to lower it and not use flat tips I would definitely run the exhaust out the back. Otherwise you run the risk of tearing out your exhaust system on a speed bump or curb.
