Ok i got into an accident 2 days ago (I looked both ways so many times and i still pulled out infront of a motorcycle) :-( Everyone was ok though....

All that happened was he hit my Front Driver Side wheel and bent the strut. It was also still driveable at about 20-25 mph so i drove it to my moms, half way there the motor started to bog out and started a pistion chatter so i put it in nuetural and let it coast (I have a 5 speed with the 2.4 btw) and the motor sounded like the pistion was hitting something. So i shut it off and called a tow truck and he came we got it towed back to my moms and he said can i take a look at it and i said sure since i knew him and he knows a lot of shit about GM vehicles. He started it up and it started to knock and he said maybe it was just a freak thing because he only hit me at like 10mph and a bent strut.

So i drove it up in the drive and the knocking stopped but it was still bogging out so i left it and today i ran it up to autozone to get the check engine like checked and it was a cylinder 3 misfire so we pulled the plug for 3 and it was screwed to all hell and back again. So we replaced it and started it up and it ran good for about 10 minutes no more knocking but now powerloss came and i checked for compression on #3 cylinder and i got 89psi and the rest about 175.

Also i check the order for the cylinders and someone told me 1 2 3 4 from passenger side to drive side but i seen on here 1 3 2 4 i think and if thats the case #2 was bad.... why a #3 code? And how did this happen? Can anyone explain to me how the cylinder could hit the spark plug? Is there a hole in the pistion now? Please help me.

A piston can't hit a spark plug unless the connecting rod came apart.

A piston could hit a valve if it drops down or of the cam timing is off.

a piston can only hit a valve if the valve has dropped or the connecing rod/wristpin snapped. Even if the cam timing was off the piston ant hit the valve, its a noninterference motor... But yeah, maybe a rocker arm broke also... I dunno either way its gonna b expensive to diagnose I am going to assume.
Peace,
Andrew

the good thing with these motors is that the head is pretty easy to take off. That would be my best bet. Take the cam covers off,do a visual look over and see if anything looks screwed up then go from there. If the car will be sitting there atleast take advantage of it if you have another car to drive

No no the car is still running actually.... The #3 cylinder only has 89psi though. The spark plug was smashed.... And theres no way i overtorqued it! So how did it get smash like that?

The front of the engine is pointing to the passenger side of the car, that is the RH side if you are sitting in the driver seat.
The cylinders are numbered 1,2,3,4 starting at the front.

And it has no knock now?

I don't think its related to the wreak unless you over reved it.

We have come to the conclusion it was just a freak thing that happened and its either a open valve that just got bent and is sticking open a little bit........ maybe some carbon got knocked off and thats how the spark plug got bent and thats what the knocking was... It only knocked for about 45 seconds total
