OK, this may sound nutty but is it possible to chop the top of a 96 or any year and make it a convertable, if so what would need to be done and has anybody ever heard of of it being done, other than that rodester concept.

not really senior. They specialize in body kits and hoods and fenders. Not nothing as extreme as convertables. Try going to www.street-beat.com they might know. Hope that helps
Sure it can be done! ALmost anything can be done with enough time & money. Money being the key to this I would believe. There would be a lot of work in doing this. The structure would have to be reinforced, as the roof is a major structural part of the car. The older GAs aren't as stiff as the new ones.
Anyway, I think it could be done, but I don't think the average guy could do it and have a good, professional looking result. A specialty shop would have to do it.

The only thing stopping you from doing it would be the money. Newport Conversion has done a ton of chops over the years. They are pretty much the biggest name when it comes around to it.

I am just going to keep the GA around for show and buy myself a Solstice. :)
Even though if you could make a GA convertible, that would be awesome.
