A couple of members from different boards have been contacting me during the last week regarding the possibility of making billet UDP's (underdrive crank pulleys) since FFP (Fast Forward Performance) have decided to stop the production of these units.

Since MRZ Performance is a well established business in the GM FWD community and that we are always looking to make new products for these cars, we would be happy to make this product available once again to the GM FWD owners.

We have all necessary CNC machines, tooling and machinists on the shop floor to make them with the close tolerances and craftmanship needed to acheive this precision work. Because we know that you car is important to you, and that the most important part is it if the engine :agree: so there is no room for guess work here and we know it. People that dealed with us in the past know we sell nothing but perfect products and we'll keep on doing it for years to come.

Here is a sample work made for the 8-rid belt setup on my supercharged W41 GTZ, this a non-slip pully that goes on the supercharger itself but it's only to show the kind of product that will be made:

If there is enough interest for the UDP's, would would start making the first units in the next weeks.

Here are the engine that we would target to start with:

- V6 2.8/3.1
- V6 3X00 (3100,3400,3500)
- Quad 4 2.3/2.4 TC

Available in natural billet aluminum finish or in various anodized colors to it looking as new for years to come! We would stock these parts and they would be easy to order on our secure website.

If you are interested in the Billet Underdrive Pulleys, please let us know and post your comments. We are open to any ideas coming from you guys ;)

If you post your interest, please let us know witch engine you run :P

If you would also like to have the the engine mounts done(dogbones and sutch) please post also! Thanks! :)

I'm sure it would be comparable to the FFP (Underdrive and lightweight). If the price is right, I think i'd get one. You definitely have a market here!

will they come w/ the sensor ring already installed? a big problem w/ the FFP pulley is that we have to take the sensor ring from our OEM pulley and place it on the FFP pulley....and theres only one way to try to make it go in their exactly how it should, and that's by eye balling it... which isnt the best idea because if its not perfect it will cause the car to misfire...

I gathered a bunch of pulleys and mounts already so we'll do the design and start to make some prototypes during next week. I'll keep you guys updated on everything.

The damper is something we cannot acheive and stay on the price range people would like to spend for a UDP so the design will be a one piece billet aluminum with steel ring around the crank oil seal. This design have proven to be effective and reliable.

Accesories pulleys will come lather on with alternator being the first on the list ...

Thanks again for all your help and comments on the project.

We will take a closer look at what is possible to do to have the ring incorporated to the UDP itself. Thanks for your input!

That would be really nice. It seems like every week someone is asking if anybody sells them anymore.

When you start selling, provide an option to buy the correct belt that will fit it...or provide part numbers so they are easy to find :)

We'll do our best to take up the numbers that need to be bought and we will also offer them directly as a kit. There is many possible combination but we'll do our best to list the most common ones.

Thanks for the comment!

We do not have the 3300 in our plans for now but if there is interest for them we can make it possible. Do you think you can find 10 people or more to get one of these?

May I suggest that you look into the 2.2L Ecotec market? The engine is used in several GM models and seems to be growing.

PontiacGA
07-03-2007, 07:43 AM
And theres probably tons of companies making things for those engines, too. ;)

RedGTZ

True, lot of company already make stuff for the Ecotec but most of them are not high quality stuff so we consider making some parts for the Ecotec's soon. We already have a nice lineup for the Cobalt's.

Keep us posted on the 3300 interest Mike ;)

What about mounts for the 3400? From what I seen you don't have mounts for us. Did you incorporate the ring into your pulley design or are we taking the OEM one off?

PontiacGA

Well, so far, it isnt looking good, as usual. I'm the only one who wants one, I guess. :P
