View Full Version : SC/T Hood

I just put the new SC/T hood on my 2002 red GT1, and yes it looks mean! I noticed that the car sits higher since the new fiber glass hood is not as heavy as the stock hood. Anyone else experience this? If so, did you lower it, and if you did lower it, how much do you recommend? I want to lower it about where it was before the new hood was put on, I don't want to lower it and have the car look hideous and bottom out.
Any help on this would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks!
~Kim :???:

The difference in hood weights won't make a difference to the hieght of the car ... what you are seeing COULD be an optical illusion as the SC/T hood itself if taller so the front of the car may look 'higher'

You may be right...I just picked it up from the dealer, so it may be that I'm looking for it. I'll have pics soon! Thanks for your reply!

... no worries ... actually, if you look at the little 'plastic flip' at the base of the windshield on the passenger side before and after the SC/T hood was installed, you will notice that you now see less of it than you did before because the SC/T hood sits taller :)

Yeah I did notice that. I had no idea the hood would look this good! I don't want to have to lower it, and I don't think I should have to. I'm sure it's all in my head! :)

Wow! 900 miles?! Geez! That's quite the trip! I live in Omaha, so I'd hate to think how far that drive would be!

I agree with Kelly, I think it's more an illusion because the difference between the two hoods is maybe the difference in a gallon of washer fluid.

And in the past we have had people drive from Florida and come in as far as from Hawaii. :)

In case anyone hasn't noticed I'm a new member, and no, I'm not whoring up a perfectly good thread. If you have nothing to add to this thread about my question, then simply don't reply to it.

The whoring comment was a joke to the postwhores.. (posting for fun / increase post count), it wasn't ment at you. When someones question has been answered it is very common for people to add in some off topic stuff for fun, don't take it so literally, everyones just tryin to have a good time.
