OK I want to start putting this back together,so I thought I would ask for aheads up if any from u guys on what I need to look out for when setting the timming on this.I sure dont want to have to take this nightmare back apart.I got a Chiltons manual but it is more of a PITA than anything .I know to set crank gear with the dot and then on to the cams this is where everything kinda gets fuzzy. ANY HELP

Hey thanks I'm allready there but can't figure out that dam tensioner.How do u get it to extend after u got it on the engine or do u release it after u got it on and slightly compress it to fit on the the shoe.I have got a Haynes manual (joke)but it is not much help.Appreciate the info

from what I read, the program Im using isn't loading the illustrations, tensioner must be pushed all the way in till it bottoms out before it will release and tension the chain

OK I get really frustreted working on this now I took a shower and drank a beer and I think I can get it now.Did I mention that this is a PITA .What manual r u getting this out of?OH yeah THANKS AGAIN

im using a snap on program called shopkey 5. All I have to say if it is the best program ever made, its gotten me through alot.

oh and i know, hell its a pita just changing the t-stat in these 2.4 and I don't even want to think about changing the water pump.

OK I thought the water pump was my intial problem but after removing it and finding it was all right I found the timming tensioner was bad .It had collapsed and made it jump time so I'm trying to get it together and sell it.Again thanks for the help and knowledge and have good day er night:lol:
