I'd go w/ a better alternator. As Barney Fife would say- "nip the problem in the bud!":D

What makes you think you don't have enough power for your system? We need more information before we can begin to help you. What do you have installed in the vehicle?

no prob i have a 4800 watt max power audibahn amp. a 75x4 audiobanh amp and a 5 farad capacitor and when the bass hits it drawn the power out of the rest of the car and the lights in all parts of the car dim dramatically

1) battery ground
2) alternator ground
3) alternator to battery

*ugrade those to 4 gauge at least. I would also pull out that lame 5 farad cap. Its not needed and its needlessly drawing current.

you have 1k watts RMS at the most going through your system.

You had it all right, but it's engine block ground, not alternator ground.

Isn't the alternator grounded to the engine block? I'm probably wrong here.

Whats your power wire gauge. what kind of battery do you have? probably would upgrade the battery if needed, then do the big 3, then a new alternator.
