I have to redo the interior of my car because everything from the
seats to the dash look horrible. So I was wondering if I could buy a
1996-1998 grand am and switch the interior door panels and the seats
and the dash from the newer one into my 1995 grand am
because I found a good deal on a 1996 grand am with a perfect
interior and I like the interior of the 96-98 models better
If not I guess I will have to keep looking for a 92-95 with a good interior

Everything will have to be replaced on the dash. Not sure if the gauge cluster will hook up with out modification though. The seats are exactly the same. The door panels will work but the 92-95 and 96-98 have different seat belt mounting locations so that will be something you will have to figure out. Also if you replace the dash it will look stupid if you don't do the center console as well. the 96-98 have an e brake in the center console our years didn't so you will have a big empty hole there as well.

Too much work, too many obstacles (like seatbelts, handbrake, etc) as Joe pointed out.
It would be easier to restore the 92-95 dash. You could still use the 96-98 seats though, which are pretty much the same.

I guarantee it won't.

If it was a 2 door, I'd be asking if ya wanted to sell the drivers side door panel. ;) You know how hard it is to find a 2 door 96-98 door panel without holes for the window crank and mirror knob that isnt screwed up without paying a lot?? :(

well I don't think I will change the dash because it would be too much work and mine is in amazing shape I just have to repaint it and paint more of it because it looks horrible right now. But I think I will buy the car and switch the seats and the door panels from it and I may also switch the rear bumper and the trunk lid over so that I can get new tail lights.
I know I will have to do some modification to the wiring but that shouldn't be that hard
