fuel pump maybe?

so my 94 Grand am has been actin kinda weird lately, after not driving it over ngith the first time i got to start the car it takes a few times until it finally turns over. then right after its started like that when i try to accelerate its like the gas isnt flowing evenly becuase it will kinda jerkk then slow jerk and then slow until eventually it will ride normal.
so i this my fuel pump or would anyone have any ideas?

I would change the fuel filter first. If you do not know it's good then spend the 10 bucks first before you replace the pump. My $.02

Could also be ignition related... see the numerous posts about Quad 4 ignition systems.

this is one of my other grand ams and its a 94 grand am se 3.1L.

I kinda opt for spending 10 bucks to change a fuel filter too.... if nothing else it should be done as routine maint...... its well worth the 10 bucks and 20 minutes needed to do it.

When my fuel pump went out it made a high pitched whine. Dont know if they all do that but it was having similar problems as yours... different vehicle of course....

Do you have erratic idling like with a vacuum leak? Check your plugs, wires, and fuel pressure regulator.
