Im not sure why, but that fuse (its a 20A) keeps blowing. I just bought the car so i dont know the full history of when it started happening, although i can find out info along the way if need be. I bought it from my friend and he said water may have got into the drivers do lock switch (window motor is messed up, but thats another story) I unplugged the switch and it still gets VERY hot after about 30 secs.

anyone had this problem before?

thanks,
Jeff

Check the cig lighter. If theres something metal in it (Such as a coin) it'll blow that fuse.

I went through five 20Amp fuses once before I figured out that a goddamn penny was in my 12V socket (Which is a common occurrance for 1992-1995 due to the proximity of the coin holder and cig lighter).

ya i was thinking of even disconnecting it and seeing if it works (i dont use it anyways.) My friend said the cig lighter hasnt worked in a long time so somewhere inside it could be messed up and shorting out.

Yeah, Try that. If the thing doesn't blow the Fuse, then it was the lighter.

You can pickup another one at walmart for under 5 bucks to toss in there. I personally installed a second one hidden under the dash for my Cobra Radar Detector.
