View Full Version : Exhaust Size?

Does anyone know what size the exhaust pipe is for a 2.3 Liter (1995 Pontiac Grand AM)? I took off my cat and the bolt broke with the threads still in the flange on the pipe behind the cat, so I'm goin' to Oreillys so I can get some new bolts and a gasket to try and drill the bolts out and be able to bolt it right back up, but if that doesn't work, I am going to have to cut the flanges off so I can use a peice of pipe and some band clamps and just connect it like that. So, I need to know what size the exhuast pipe it just incase I have to connect it with a new peice of piping and band clamps.

I want to say I read on here somewhere that it was 2 inch, but Im a inbred redneck so I couldnt be sure about that.

Ill do a search for you and see if I can find it.

When I did a search on another site it came up with 2.25 I dont know if thats right I want to say it was 2 inch but I could be wrong man. Good luck either way. Sorry to hear about your situation in breaking it but good luck fixing it.

IIRC, 2.25" is stock and the ideal upgraded size for a relatively stock engine is 2.5".

Thanks for all the help. I'm fairly sure it is infact 2" I've had many people tell me it was, but with so many mixed answers I wasn't sure.

You helped quite a bit actually, more than others! It was 2in. Now it's time to start cuttin', without any power tools. :(
