I was having issues with the wax the dealership had used on the stang when I bought it a few months ago. I hated the way the car looked, the paint seemed very dull and water spots had formed on the hood and trunk. I decided to try something new so I bought some Turtle Wax Ice polish.
It comes with an applicator and a microfiber towel.

Instructions are no different than other polish/wax applications,
Here it is applied to car above the gas filler cap (that is fuzz around the gas cap from my drying towel):

After wiping it off and buffing with the microfiber towel the results were beyond AMAZING! to say the very least. The car shined up the way its supposed to.

All in all I am VERY happy with this polish. I wish I could say the same for the Mr Clean autodry I had been using.
Here are some pro's and con's for the polish
Pros:
Goes on really easy
No white residue
Becomes hazy after 5 minutes
Can be applied in direct sunlight
Removes most water spots
Easy to see in the sunlight
Inexpensive
Buffs to an AWESOME shine
Cons:
Hard to see on a black car in the shade since the polish is clear
Its easy to apply too much to the car
Tough to remove if you apply too much
Doesnt remove old water spots as good as I would have liked
Not easy to remove if it gets on glass

I might give that a whirl, it looks fantastic.. And I'm tired of the white residue I have to fight with on my black car

Nice Stang
I'd give it a try to if it wasn't for the fact that I have drive up a dirt road to get to where I'm staying. It would be a loseing battle for me right now but after I get move I'll try it.

The 4.6 isnt the most powerful motor in the world and I'll admit my car isnt "fast" but I certainly dont think a 300hp 4.6V8 is crappy, especially when i dyno'd 302 to the wheels with a simple intake and tune.
This thread is about polish, lets keep on topic shall we?

... I have used this stuff on the Wife's Honda simply because it looked really easy to use and since I couldn't hurt the Honda's paint, I said what the hell ... anyway, I was actually REALLY impressed ... I will say though it left the paint/finish VERY streaky unless you rubbed it out well then, it really didn't look quite right until you washed it once ... regardless, it was easy to apply, made a big difference and that is sometimes half the battle on a car you don't care too spend a whole bunch of time on (no offence to your car John, that comment was mainly about the Honda :D)

I heard that the Ice Wax seems good right after it is applicated on the car, but that it wears off very quickly. (like 3 or 4 washes later).
I've never used it (and probably never will...) so I can't tell if it's the truth.

Only one way to find out....try it.
Its IMPOSSIBLE to say how long a wax or sealant will last becuase every vehicle is subjected to different environments.

I won't try it for the only reason that I'm please with the products I use right now (Meg's #80, #7, #26 and NXT).

Heard lots about it but I don't think I would bother with it either. I have heard the same things Pat said though. Is it a pure polish or more like a cleaner wax or AIO?

I was wrong by saying it was a sealant. Its actually an all-in-one (AIO).

Meguiars nxt lasts a while and on a black car it comes out looking nice. the trick with a black car is that you do need to polish every once in a while and then clean it off and then add wax. the key is to make sure that all of one product is off before adding the next. this does not mean just buffing it off. when i detail i polish, quick detail the entire car and then add the next product. this is how you avoid c swirls and holograms. if it comes down to washing the car in between the polish and the wax, then do so...it will only help

I guess im confused by what you mean by *polish*. The only way to avoid holograms is to have a good technique with your rotary buffer and be using the correct pads and polish, this comes with experiance. Not really sure what you mean by *c swirls* though.
If you using an AIO it wont matter if you have any residue, the AIO will remove it.
How long a protective product lasts depends on alot of variables like: Is it garaged? Does it stay outside 24/7? What environment is it subjected to on a daily bases? ect ect ect ect.

C Swirls are cause from a rotary buffer, when all the material isnt taken off (exaple poorboys ssr1 or meguairs stage 2 polish). going over it with any other material will leave these marks in the shape of a "C". the motion of the pad creates them. if your using a random orbital, then you wont have these types of problems. hope that helps describe a "C" swirl

Maybe our terminology isnt matching up. Micro-marring has a C shape, maybe that is what you mean? But that is in the surface of the paint, not product left on the paint, so i dont think that is what you mean.
Megs DC2 is a pure polish, no abbrasives so that wont leave micro-marring unless you mean their pro-line #2?

yes there proline, i think our thought is the same though the terminology is off, your right....you said what i was basically trying to say.

kewl
BTW, a PC can micro-marr easily if you dont fully break down the polish.
