Ok so i was sitting at my friends house and his beast of a 91 chevy silverado sport's parking break failed and dow the driveway his truck comes hitting my 03 gagt i donth think there is much frme damage but the body kit is effed!
So I was wondering two things,
1, does anyone know how to obtain a new rear bumper for the gt, or know a good aftermarket bumper that looks good with stock
2 is anyone in colorado so i can get a number for a good body shop the quarterpannel is effed too!!!

AHHH please help

1. Junkyard is your best bet. Dealership is too expensive and have fun molding an aftermarket OE bumper to fit right.

Junkyard or GMpartsDirect for the rear.

Junkyard usually works best for cheapest.

1. Let the shop/insurance worry about that.
2. Sorry, don't know the area.

Matt, they could just both have liability so the insurance might be out.

I'd say get as many parts as possible at a junkyard, and do the prep work yourself, like sanding to get it painted. See if you have any buddies that can apply mud or pull dents. Anything to lower the cost to you would help alot, since the paint will cost quite a bit if done at a shop.

Nobody was behind the wheel. Should be able to file a comprehensive claim which doesn't hurt your rates. A rear quarter panel is a $3000+ job. Do you really want to pay that for someone else's mistake?

Either way, you didn't cause this... either your friend should be paying for this, if not time to file a comp claim on with your insurance.

Yea I agree you didn't do it to your car. They need to be paying for it. And I think you said you don't have insurance? I would hope you would on a 2003 Grand Am.

I think he meant that he only has liability on the car, and he doesn't want to screw his friend's insurance rates over, so he wants to do it himself.

It is a comprehensive claim. You were not at the wheel during the loss, your rates will not go up. On top of that, your insurance will go after their insurance company for damages and to cover your deductible. You're not doing yourself any favors by keeping it secret.

True. It was a mechanical failure that caused the accident, not driver failure.
