ok so I have the Monsoon sound system and was just wondering if the Monsoon amps were universal from 99-05, because I have a Monsoon amp I took out of 01 GA GT before it was wrecked (good luck on my part) the system sounded AMAZING, and I loved, but now I have my 03 GA GT and the system sounds good but not as great, it only sounds really good when im goin 70 mph on the interstate because of the SCV, so I was just wondering if it would be ok to unplug my amp and put in the other one I have, they look the same and are both out of GT Grand Ams with the monsoon, the one I want to put in is form an 01 and my car is an 03, and if anyone knows why this might be happening please tell me what I should do, and Yes I have checked the connections and stiff and I have my equalizer set the same as I did in my old GA, thanks in advance for the help, I just need to know if this is safe? and if not what should I do?

i would check the style number (serial number) of the amp thats in the car right now,, and if its the same,, then yeah,, should be perfect..
and it probably is anyway,, if the connectors look like they fit but style number is different,, check for voltage.. if its the same,, then there's no risk,, and if it isnt,, i think plug it in and check it.. maximum\worse case is you can burn out the 01 amp,, but you'll still have the 03 one to put back in.nothing can happen to your stereo though,, its just audio cables.

or call your local GM parts center or dealership, theyll be able to tell you right there and should be quick and free

You could also try turning the SCV thing off. It's kind of nice since you don't have to turn the radio up when going fast, but it sucks when the volume goes up after cruising around town or something then going out on country roads. I think the manual should tell you how to turn it off. Try that, if it works, great, if not, you can just turn it back on.

When I had my factory Monsoon deck, I never used the SCV feature. I didn't find it useful. It sounds like your factory Monsoon amp is still fine. If it were bad, you wouldn't hear any sound. Just play with your settings a little bit. I wouldn't recommend turning up the bass higher than +4.

Well I hooked it up and it didn't make a difference but did work fine, I will turn off the SCV, but I do have an extra amp in case mien goes out because I know that ANY trouble with the Monsoon system is expensive
