Hey guys I have a 12" CC that I am wanting to mount in my trunk. I saw somewhere where they wired it to the light in the trunk so it came on when the trunk opened and went off when the trunk was closed. Do anyone have any suggestions on how to wire the CC to do that?

Has anyone put CC's in the trunk and wired them to the trunk light before?

Yeah I did it, I took out the stock light bulb holder in the trunk and removed the wire, put the stock light back in. Then I soldered on two metal "pins" to the cathode transformer leads and made sure they fit inside the stock plug in and then simply put + to + and - to -. Let me know if ya got any other ?'s

i cut off the plug and just tied the + and - to the ones on the neon and same thing for my strobes and it works fine

What does the transformer actually look like on the CC? I have two wires coming from the end which plug into a blue box. Do I just cut the white wires and then figure out which one is + and which one is - ?

Don't cut the white wires.. The + and - are the black and red wires coming out of the transformer.. The transformer doesn't sit ON the CC's, just near it.. tuck it up on the underside of the trunk, you'll never see it

I haven't heard any good things coming out of doing that.. it's just easier wiring 2 into the trunk.. then messing with those wires.. I wouldn't want to jeopordize the final product
