I have a question about this audio stuff. I want to swap out all my Monsoon speakers and put all alpine type r speakers in. First I want to get the 6 1/2 components and then 6x9s. I want to add an amp to it too so i think the guy recommended the alpine MRP-F550. I told him i want to add one sub after that. He said that he would get a distribution block and then run 8 gauge wire both the 550 amp and then one for the sub amp. I want to get a 12 inch alpine type r sub and he recommended the Alpine M450 amp. Will that power that sub or not? Does this sound like a good setup? The CD player I plan on getting has three sets of preouts so it should work with that.

Yeah, the Alpine M450 amp should work just fine. Are you only running one 12 incher off of it? I have an M450 pushing two 10 inch type E's and it sounds great. I also have a RF 2 farad cap hooked up to it. If you are only running 1 sub off that amp it should work great.

You'll be fine with the amp for the Type R, but they can take in excess of 600WRMS, so you'll be slightly underpowering that sub, but you'll be fine off of that power. I wouldn't go as far as using 8guage on that amp, yeah 8 guage is good, but I still think you should have atleast 4guage on it.

I am using 4 guage wire for everything I am running and it seems to be doing fine. Are you running your actual speakers off of the same amp?

Actually I was going to have a seperate amp which would be the Alpine F550 for the alpine type r speakers. Wish money grew on trees than i would have it everything done already. Ohh well I guess. I am thinking about getting the deck soon and then a couple weeks later the 6x9s and 61/2s and the amp.

Yeah no kidding, money is always an issue no matter what you do. I have spent quite a bit redoing all of my stereo in my car, granted it sounds great and I have placed 2nd in 2 db contests, but yeah it hurt the wallet. Where exactly are you putting the 6 1/2" speakers?

I was going to put them in the door. The factory driver and passenger door. You can dot that right. You just have to switch up the spacer or somthing right? I had hit a deer last night so all my audio is currently on hold on right now because I may get an SC/T hood before this now. Heres the Forum (http://www.gaownersclub.com/forum/showthread.php?threadid=76851) to see what it all did to my car. It didnt as much as i thought. Dumb deer.

the audio sounds like a plan. 6.5" will work, but itll take a lot of work to get those in there. id recommend 5.25" components for the front, still needs a spacer, but shoudlnt sound too different and will fit better.
if you are going to be running both amps eventually then get a 4 gauge power kit for now and then split to 8 gauge to each amp later when both are installed. no real need for anything bigger.
wy all alpine? just curious, not bad stuff but theres better stuff for the money. dont be afraid to mix and match, speakers amps and deck dont all have to be the same brand. alpine is best known for their decks.

I want to go all alpine because I dont like mix and matching. Id rather have it all the same. I think it looks tacky when I see somebody having lets say an Alpine amp and MTX subs and then kenwood speakers. The only setup I would go is Alpine and JL.

thats liek saying i dont want to mix and match my car and TV brand so ill just go daewoo or shitsubishi. not saying alpine is low end, but first off the speakers are hidden, secondly you can hide the amps if you desire, and if anyone says anything about have different brands then they are morons because most people know that no single brand makes everything in the same quality.
its your car and your money, just making a suggestion. and doing alpine and JL isnt a bad idea.
