I recently purchased a 97 grand am gt at a local auto auction and noticed that it had the anti-theft feature. The vendor did not supply a clicker however and I am wondering if there is a way to order one or set the alarm without a clicker. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks.

If by clicker you mean Remote Keyless Entry, then just search ebay, thats where I got mine for a very reasonable price. Now getting it programmed to your car can be a little pricey but search around.

You're confusing anti-theft and keyless entry. Your year GA never had a factory alarm (actually I don't think any GA had a real factory alarm but I could be wrong).
Anyway the "anti-theft" on your car is probably referring to the PassLock feature which does not allow the car to be hotwired easily as starting the car without using a key (and thus not turning the ignition cylinder), the car will not enable the fuel injectors and it won't run.
This is completely separate from RKE (remote keyless entry) which was simply a convenience option on these cars, to open and lock the doors and trunk without using the keys.
It is possible that the car has RKE and you didn't get any remotes with it, but it's more likely the car does not have RKE at all. It's not that big a deal though. The range on the factory system was severely limited as it was an early system on those cars, and again it had nothing to do with anti-theft (other than locking your doors, lol).
If you want to find out if the car had RKE or not, just take off the upper left (driver's side) carpet retainer in the trunk, and then pull back the carpet. If you see a black module up near the trunk hinge, you have factory RKE. If you don't see it, then you don't have that option.
Again though, it's not a big deal. If you want RKE, a better idea is to get an aftermarket alarm system. Even a basic alarm system which will have RKE as well as other features like a shock sensor, door/trunk/hood sensing, starter kill, and a siren, and have much better range than the factory system had.

The Anti-Theft on the 4th gens were a key style one. If the key for the car was not used in an attempt to start it (Such as hotwiring), it would shutoff the fuel pump.

The injectors, not the fuel pump. Fuel pump is not part of PassLock. If the PCM doesn't pulse the injectors, no fuel goes in, and therefore the engine doesn't run ;)

Well said Roland.
If it was an aftermarket anti-theft system that was installed, your going to have to get up inside to find the brain of the unit, and then the model number. If its a older system you may have ahard time finding a replacement remote (clicker).

Either way, no fuel.
(Ps. I have the Ancient version of the GA, not the 1996+ );)
Mine is easy to steal if you get around the Taurus Revolver that is the anti-theft.
