I have a friend who has a supercharger off a 01 Grand Prix GTP. He checked and it will work on my 01 grand am. But will I have to get a chip or is there somebody around that does the comps for our cars. First post btw

The only part off a Grand Prix that fits a Grand Am is the mirrors.

You could, but it isn't worth doing so.

Hmmm well for the most part with the supercharger, check and see there might still be the E/M SC for sale the only whipple style blower for the GA, I know GM performance parts a while ago i mean like 3 years ago offered an SC for our cars but the kit was like 4g's and most people liked the i guess the site is now "Z-spec" SC better, that or there is a company that offers a Turbo kit for our cars. I personally am gonna set up an ATI procharger on my car.

not really, cuz you'd still have to change out the tranny or you'd fry em all the time, and dont forget about all the custom work you' have to do like engine mounts and engine controllers. in the end not worth it, or just by a car with a 3800 in it :)

I bring back this thread to the top.
I know that 3800 supercharger didn't fit on a 3400, but nobody said why?
Where is the problem? The lengh of the blower? Bolt patern? What is the biggest problem? I ask you that because it's no big deal for me to make a CNC adaptor.
Thx for the info

Problems like proper length low tolerance drive shafts and mounting brackets, piping, rerouting cables and lines and whatnot come readily to mind. Oh, dont forget that there is barely enough room to fit the M62 kit in so I wouldnt even consider an M90 in the same space.
The only way to do it would be to cut a hole in the hood and cut out the UIM and bolt the M90 to the top so it can run on the accessory belt.

Yeah you have to get a 3800 engine or it will not work. and when you get the 3800 engine you might wanna get a new transmission to fit the engine cuz ur stock one will not fit the 3800... trust me just try to find a supercharger for the 3400

Biggest problem is 3.4 is 60 degree engine and 3.8 is 90 degree engine. Look under you hood, your 3.4 intake is about 1 inch from the hood, imagine with a 5-6 inch supercharger on the top of this....
3.8 engine has bigger place between the head.
But if you are ready to instal a 5-6 inch hood scoop, you can made an adaptor plate for the M90 and weld it on you 3.4 intake...

Yeah you have to get a 3800 engine or it will not work.
You can make it work... sacrifices must be made.

Yeah, cause we all want a supercharger hanging out of our hood, that Beretta makes me sick.

If you go to the that beretta guys website he says he is afraid of it because the S/C and 5 speed swap was a kinda cheap hackjob

The supercharger wouldn't sit on top of the intake, it would actually be where the intake manifold currently is.
