can you use a 99/00 oem cd player on a 94-98 system?
i read on here that on a 01 and up model you can't use.
and since i have an opurtunity (ms?) too

plus i ask becuase i had the cd player option in my car but gave it up and bought a pioneer.

while the pioneer was in the shop i went and got a oem tape player (free).

i was gonna mount my amp on the driver side behine the carpet and seen a black box.
had wires coming out....
so i did'nt know what it was so i started the car while running removed the harness and the sound went away?

i thought the 92-98 did'nt come with an amp?
but after i set it up the right way it sounds perfect (for a tape player).....

The oem deck from 99-00 will work in 96 thru 2000 model years. The 92-95's have a different mounting system and the newer ones will not match up,on the other hand the wiring will be the same.

You can use it, but you do need to do custom work to mount it.

It'd be alot better to go with an aftermarket unit anyways.

thats the thing i have one.
and every since that amp has been hooked up....it sounds damn good!

more so with the tape player....and for kicks and giggles i went to my cousin house (the one i gave my oem cd player to) and hooked it up.

i was impressed.
don't laugh it kinda sound like a bose system, except it has bass and treble.
and it's clear when you blast it.
and the rear 6x9's handle the bass.....

plus lately there's been a series of break ins round' my hood.....
