I dont know a whole lot about amps, subs, and caps. i had a 2 farad capacitor, 2 1000w subs and 2000w amp installed by best buy, i lost the recipt so they said that loses my warranty... when i start the car the neons on the amp and cap lights up the fan on the amp starts up but the subs are not hitting at all.... i checked the wires to make sure nothing is lose and i checked the fuses two on the amp and the one on the power wire they are all good... i might just be missing something simple but any i would appriciate any help, thanks

if it turns on them maybe something is up with the RCA jacks on the amp or your radio. Did it work and just stop working or did you just install it and doesnt work.

^^^^ like he said... def check the RCAs. they send the signal from the deck. withotu them hooked up you arent going to get anything.

Did you have the setup on full tilt? Gain all the way up? If so you could have been clipping and just burnt up the FETs...

it is a 2000w amp with 2 1000 watt subs i never turned is up more then half way, and the gain was never really on high either the power wire is 6 gage i didnt know if it would burn or something the rca are conected i checked yesterday some other kid looked it over for me and said maybe the channels blew out.... it just seems like the amp isnt pushin to the subs im gonna connect my friends amp today and see if my amp is bad and ill see when i get to work if the amp got hot at all

Yeah, 6 guage is a HUGE mistake. Get 4 guage, if it's a true 2000W amp, you'll need atleast 1/0 wire. What Make/Model is the amp?

What brand stuff are we talking? I have never once touched the bass boost on my amp, it sounds like chit even a quarter way up. Dont tune by ear, go to your local Home Depot/Lowes and buy a DMM, and find a how-to set gains correctly with a DMM.

If u want to see if ur subs r not blown just buy or find someone with a ohm meter and read ur subs, and if i had it installed at best buy and lost my reciept i would still be back there bitching or at least see if they have it on file on computer. And ur not pushing anything close to 2000 watts with that amp. You can get those new on ebay for like 150 bucks shipped. hope that helps
