Mike, why not go to the track and work on the cars in the pits?

tenspeed

I thinking that I want to go to the pits and hang out there too. I don't have any real interest in running the mighty Ecotec. I will leave the slowest car title to someone else.

As long as there's a shady place to park the lawn chair and a cooler with some adault beverage, I'm good.

ga5speed02
07-05-2007, 12:11 PM
i would rather stay and drink at the hotel and mod cars, but i guess i could go do that

ga5speed02
07-05-2007, 12:12 PM
yea Jim if tis shady and such it will be ok. i have a headliner to do tho, and once its wrapped it has to stay still with weight on it over night so i didnt want to shlep it all over NY

ga5speed02
07-05-2007, 12:15 PM
i wonder if there is a welder at in the pitts :D

I might not go to the track either way I will not be running. All my big mods got pushed back due to lack of funds after getting laid off so im tired of running 16s.

True enough... But besides Kelly's tree, there isn't much shade at the hotel either.

ga5speed02
07-05-2007, 02:16 PM
 true, but im not going to run at the track (no door handles, go figure) but i mean if people wanna saty and hang back, chill and have a few beers(of age) i think they should be able to.

but i must admit i am an addict when it comes to work on rides :D

Mike,

I'd mod at the track. I know the hotel is quite lenient with us, but no way to get thrown out of the track for working on cars.

We got a crappy spot last year. In 2005 we had a great spot to chill in the tech area... huge tree in the grass there.

07-05-2007, 02:28 PM
thats true matt. but i know i doing a headliner. the less it moves to the glue can cure the better. plus i need weight on it like phone books or paint cans or something

it was just an idea

Yea, but then it's like paying to mods cars, gotta pay the spectator fee, and the drive to the track.. prolly be more practical at the hotel..

But wtf do I know.. I just like to whore

You guys are staying in the hotel all week and can't pay $5-10 to get into the track?

Doesn't matter either way... but if you guys piss off the hotel management during the day and we lose our conference room hookup for sat night beer pongage, I'm banning everyone that didn't go to the track. :bigjoe:

matt has a good point the hotel might not take kindly to people modding their cars all day in the parking lot

99GrandAMSE
07-05-2007, 03:23 PM
... I doubt they would get all upset over SMALL stuff but tools and parts all over the place probably wouldn't go over well ... at the track will provide us all to be together and still get mods and runs in

anyone not comin is going to miss the battle of the superchargers (aka me n matt)... btw i've upgraded a lil bit:

spec stage 2 clutch, secret cam swap, and i'm havin the car re-tuned... still gonna run the 19's though :)

Gimli

Then we go mod in the restaurant parking lot just across the lawn strip :D

I second that we should head out to the track though. I haven't been running the last two years and there's always something fun to do anyway (like getting sunburnt or posing for photographs while taking a nap).

Think about it. Modding at the track is perfect: you'll never run out of tools to borrow (and tools to watch you work too!) :D

I just think it's cooler if everyone can chill in one place instead of dividing the group.

In 05 I installed my system in the parking lot. It took the better part of Saturday evening. We worked well into the night. Had a ghetto rigged work light and everything. Actually between me and Corey I think there was always at least one of us working. I remember I even had the car in a few pieces at the show.

I think the last mod day we had I pissed off Johns entire neighborhood within a four block radius with all the noise I made.

Mike we have two canopys so I hope we have enough shade...

Plus, as usual, I'll have the top of my tool box there for anyone who needs it.

Hey atleast you'll have access to the tools and welder. :)

Just piss off the neighbor over the fence, not on the otehr side of my yard.

Haha, no prob. Just bring it with you... then I can join in with the parking lot modders.

I'm not taking the SC off... takes too long on my car. The coolant tank is much easier to remove. ;)
