I have been in comunication with mike Miller and this is the
e-mail I recived back from him.

MODS ... (im not trying to advertise for this company.
Just need some people to join up for us to get this done )
------------------------------------------------------------------------------

I wrote to him:

I think the easiest project the get people hooked on would be the 3300
5 speed conversion.
I my self have tryed but failed.
There is no fly wheel avail because there was never a 5 speed
for this engine. You can use a good donor car like a Beretta of the same gen to get
the parts needed. A 5 speed, the 1/2 shafts ect.

We had the fly wheel from the Beretta and the grand am taken to a machine shop to drill holes in it to so it could be mounted properly.

After that was completed, I started work.
5 speed was installed, Clutch peddle was installed. ( no guess work had to be done as the is a mounting plate in the car on the fire wall was all ready there)

Some major issues I cam across.
My tranny mounts were terrible. I did not have access to a welder and the 5 speed mounts from the Beretta would not fit.

After I finaly got every thing in. The ECM was not programed for a 5 speed so the Starter Safety switch had to be over ridin.

The ECM was looking for the TCC of the auto and would constantly throw a check engine light.

The 5 speed Spedo sensor would not talk to the cluster in the dash bord and

I could never remedy this situation.
With no 5 speed 3300 in production, there was never any ECM's programed for it.

You would have to do this. ( Can you even reprogram a ECM of the generation?)

I did in the end have it runing and workable

but having to move, I lost my Garage and didint have the time to finish the project.
With the right tools and knowledge of G.M parts, this project could be a real hit.

Even if it was just a

Tranny mounts
Updated ECM
Working speed sensor
Fly Wheel

Package,

it would SELL.

When you start adding a 5 speed tranny, clutch cables, peddles, it gets very expensive just to ship. Thus putting it out of peoples reach to afford.
If I could round up .... say 10 people that would prepay for some thing like this,

Would you be interested in manufacturing it?

He wrote back

I’m pretty sure I could fix all those issues, it may just take a little time to work the bugs out the first time.

Anyways, If 10 people would pre-pay for this conversion, I would take it on. Without pricing out all the parts, it’s hard to say what the price would be right now, but what do you think I should charge for this conversion?

i make a chip for the 3300 5 speed, it took me months to perfect it, and have been using it for over a year with zero problems, incase anyone needed one.

depending on price i would be in on this, i think a 5spd with my 3300 would make it much more snappy off the line and in general a quicker car...

Damn... I would take that 3300 over my 3100 any day, especially if it had a 5 speed. That's awesome guys keep up the great work.
