2 more cai questions

What is that small black hose that goes from the intake runner to the engine block? If I put in a cai do I need it? ok I lied its more like 3 questions. the 3rd question is I was at pepboys looking at the supplies to make my own cai and I noticed they had a Y shaped tube. do you think if someone took out the windshield washer container for more room and used the Y tube for 2 filters instead of just 1 that it would just be a waste of money or do you think it might be a good idea. Thanks for any answers.

if its a hose it would be the oil breather, if its the plastic hose covering wires, then its your iat sensor, you need both either way. i dont think the 2 filter thing would help anything, neat idea but just dont think its practical.

If you had two filters and larger piping it probably wouldn't do much as these engines can only take a certain amount of air naturally aspirated, any more is a waste and is not being used.
