Hello,

Is it easy to replace the front calipers on a 99 Grand Am GT?

Thanks

Yes.
About a 3 on a scale of 1-10.

As part of the pad replacement process, you must remove each caliper from its mounts, anyhow.
But you leave the hose connected.

To install a new caliper, you merely:
* Prefill the new caliper cylinder with fluid;
* Disconect the hose from the old caliper, and stick a golf 'Tee' in it to prevent escess dribbling of fluid;
* Connect the hose to the new caliper, and re-assemble everything just as you would for pad replacement.

Compare to other side of car, and correct anything theat doesn't look right (but opposite).
Repeat for other side of car; NEVER do both at once.

Bleed the air from system at each caliper.

Done.

More difficult for rear discs with drum parking breaks.

Hope this helps,
-Rick

In addition make sure you put back the copper washer that
goes in between the hose and the caliper, you usually get a
new one with the cal..

if your changing calipers, get the twin pison camaro calipers (they bolt right on with the camaro brackets) just be prepared for minor grinding.... and need new rotors too, but its well worth it!

but reguardless of my lousy "sales" pitch, everything said is good just make sure to keep the old ones and return them for a core charge refund.
