Do you have an aftermarket stereo or extra lights? How are your battery cables looking? It sounds to me like you have a weak connection or not enough juice to power everything.

It's normal.
When you put on the brakes, you take your foot off the gas so the revs go down. When the engine is turning slower, the alternator is putting out less power. When your foot hits the brake peddle, seven bulbs lightup in the rear of the car, the ABS system is called into action and the lights flicker.

thanks for the replies. kinda bugs me... everything dims for that little moment. dash lights.. the works. i cant see it being the halos. it shouldnt take that much power to run a couple of leds

By extra lights I meant underbody or interior neons/cold cathodes. If you want to get rid of it you can try doing the big three, bigger battery, maybe get a 200 amp alternator.

I would suggest taking your car to an auto-parts store and having them test your alternator. Chances are it's fine, but it sounds like it's a little weak and may need replaced.
Before taking any large steps though, remove your battery cables from the battery, clean the battery and assure there is a tight connection again. This may alleviate any problems.
