one important tip is, buy a OEM (GM) fuel pump.

You'll prolly need a special tool to disconnect the plastic tubing from the fuel pump to the filter, at the filter.
Wait, don't bother: Just slice that plastic tubing in two, since the new pump will come with new tubing.

Get a buddy, since lowering that tank, even empty, is a PITA.
I did it solo, and used a bunch of nylon cord to sling/hoist it and some coathanger wires to position it.

Other than having to drop the cross-over exhaust pipe on the 'dual exhaust' V-6 GT, it was pretty straight forward.

There was a broken and useless plastc 'bucket-type' liner in my tank, in which the pump sat.
It was factory installed and cracked all-to-hell, so i removed the pieces and just ignored it when installed the new one.

As daman says, a Delco OEM pump is the way to go.
But you don't hafta pay dealer prices.
NAPA carries the Delco also, and they give a AAA discount in addition to less-than-list pricing.

AAA = Towing, jumpstarts, lockouts, NAPA discounts: Everything a GA owner needs :D :D

Yep, Definately get a good buddy for the tank job... makes it a hell of a lot easier. (Remember the buddy rule: Buy beer)

Also, no smoking when doing this... we don't want to have anyone get burned ;).

As far as tools, get a basic set of hand tools, that'll pretty much have you set. You would also want to get the quick connect fitting disconnector tool for the fuel filter.
