i just installed a jvc kdg-230 reciver and i want to know what way speakers i should put in the deck. and the front also. i want a heavier bass sound but i still want to be able to hear regular guitar and stuff through them...(i know i sound like a noob .. lol cuz im not sure if having a certain way speakers cancels out sertain sounds) thanks in advance... no sub installed yet i going to put in a 10" kicker comp style in a month.. by the way speaker are NOT going to be connected to an amp they will be through the reciver

imo what u need to do is hook up the sub to a good mono channel amp and then get a seperate amp for your highs. You'll get good low's and still be able to have the power from the other amp for your high's

well 2-way and 3-way arent what you need to be concerned with. what you need to do is go listen to several speakers and get thes ones that have the best sound for you. expensive doesnt necessarily mean better, and 2-way, 3-way, 4-way really means nothing. it adds extra speakers at different sizes, but a decent mid/tweeter combo can blow away all of that.

dont worry about bass from those speakers, they wont offer much. your sub will take care of that. take your favorite CDs in to a store and listen for mid to upper frequency response and get thes ones that sound best to you.

If you are going for clarity and some good mid range bass...get component speakers FTW!!

I've always been told to go for comps, but if you need coaxials to get the least amount of additional speakers for the back deck. You could always get some mdf and adapt 6.5" comps to fit in the rear deck 6x9 spots. Aren't you the one that I saw do this Dave?
