So I got a chromeintakes CAI. I got the 3 pc and when I went to install it, it didnt seem to fit in there right.

So I got from the MAF sensor into the fenderwell installed perfectly. When I went to install the piece from the TB to the MAF sensor things went wrong. The Wiring for the MAF sensor is pulled to tightly and it seems to put the filter way to far into the fender. The other problem is it kinda rubs on the battery. I wound up putting the accordian piece back on instead, and the wiring is still tight, but it seems to work.

Should I just use the accordian piece? Is there realy that big of a differance between the two. Can I buy an extension for the MAF sensor? Or if anybody lives near Monongahela PA or even pittsburgh who has installed a CAI, can we meet up for some help. Thanks

i dont have a chrome intakes kit, but my dr speed stage 3 leans right onto the battery.... only thing i can really suggest is turn the peice the other way although if im not mistaken i think ive read some people splice some wire in there to make it a little bit longer....

Did you unwrap the tape over the wires going back as far as possible? My CAB was like that too until I unwrapped it and got about 3/4" of slack, which made it fit perfect.

there is a wire loom clamp (cant think of the correct term) holding the wires in place... open the little plastic clamp (or whatever you want to call it) and adjust the wires/loom as needed and then close the clamp when all is set right...

if what I just said seems confusing I am sure someone understood enough of it to know what I meant and maybe they will be kind enough to make a new post reexplaining (sp?) what I just wrote above

i have a chromeintake 3 pcs kit and mine fit perfect wires were a little tight, just removed some tape from them and now there fine. try installing in the reverse order. i put the filter and small pipe in the fender the connected the long pipe to the small one (was a little challenge) then connected the long pipe to the maf.
