This was my first time and I had a great time! The best part for me was meeting all the members that were here. The worst part was, well there were two.

1) I'm not as young as I used to be so keeping up with the kids went out the window as far as sleep, or lack there of, goes.

2) hasn't happened yet, I still have to clean all that rubber off my car from the burnouts I did at the track LOL I can't wait to see the pics. :D

I got my ass handed to me 3 out of 4 times, and yes Katie DID beat me :) but it was all good

I am looking forward to Albany 08, do we have a date yet?

I hope everyone has a safe drive home and I'll see you all next year.

I know I had a blast!!!!! My head is still kinda trying to catch up with all the people I met and cars I seen. I think I might end up staying at the hotel next year anyway. I thank everyone for being welcoming and all the wonderful comments I got! Everyones cars looked great! Can't wait for next year as Darrin said and hope to see the "locals" more often!

This year was great, as usual. I enjoyed meeting and hanging with everyone again. Despite having the only G6, for the 2nd year in a row,I feel welcome amongst all you Grand Am fans. Thanks. :)

Keith, you've been here long enough you're family no matter what you drive! In our eyes the G6 is just the newest generation GA anyways. And shoot I don't even own a GA anymore, so never let that stop you from coming!

FYI that's not rubber, it's the goop they put on the start line to give better traction.

They had just re-sprayed the track when you all went for your last run :(

Too bad Albany didn't happen like every 6 months. Maybe then I would be able to hold back the excitement and wait it out. Meanwhile I'm just freaking out, I can't wait to go back and do it again!

Applying a coat of wax to the quarters before doing burnouts allows you to just wipe everything off with a rag and have a nice clean shine. There was a lot of discussion about this on another car forum I'm on. I forget some of the other products mentioned.. some spray on stuff.

Darrin try WD40 to remove the rubber, works great.

Also as stated waxing before hand helps. There is also a product by VHT or Duplicolor called a Spray on Bra. You spray it on, it's clear and leaves a protecting coat on teh finish. When you want it off you use soap and water.

Shadow-D

I'll try those next time I go to LVD and "Light em up"

that wouldn't protect against rock chips will it?
i've never heard of the spray on bra that's why

And here I was thinking whipped cream... :roll2: :D

Anyway, the spray-on stuff does work fairly well but sometimes requires a little rubbin' n scrubbin' to get it all off. WD40 does also work great, I totally forgot to mention it.

Well I washed the car tonight and got 90% off, I still have to work at it a bit more. I'll try WD40 tomorrow, I'm pretty tired now.
Thanks for the help :)

I got most of it off, I might have to get a clay bar tho. I've been thinking about claying the car anyways do to a lot of swirl marks in the hood. Well see how I feel this weekend.
Pics look cool

A clay bar won't do anything about swirl marks, it's for removing contaminants from the paint, nothing more. You need polish to remove the swirls. :)

I thought that would along with a good waxing? Prob won't be this weekend, I've been having the week from Hell at work :(
