Alright guys i'm sorry if this question has already been asked, which it probably has. I tried searching the forums for my answer but didn't find it, so idk if it's really not on there or if i just don't know how to search. Anyhow I have a 99 GAGT 3400 and was looking to upgrade the fuel supply system. I was going to start with the injectors and was just wondering how big of injectors i would be able to go with? And where i would i be able to order these injectors from. I'm really not sure at all so don't quote me on it but i think my car has 31lb injectors??? idk but is it possible to upgrade to maybe a 42lb injector? if so where could i get them from? again if this has already been asked i'm sorry i know you guys get upset with things that have been asked already, but any help would be greatly appreciated.

No reason to on a stock car

Ive heard people on here say that unless its boosted, theres really no need to upgrade...you can dump plenty-o-fuel in it, but unless theres enough air to match it, its just pointless.

my car is basically stock except for my 18's and window tint. As far as the engine goes for upgrades i have bosch +4 fusion iridium tipped spark plugs along with bosch wires and different ignition coils for hotter spark, but not sure what kind, i bought the car with those. and i also have a Dr Speed stage 3 cold air intake. so i figured with more airflow i wanted to try and match that with more fuel in hopes to get more power from the engine.

unless you s/c it you have no reason to upgrade them. adding bigger injectors with just a cai intake would be a waste. dont bother getting them. the stock ones are decent and wont need upgrading untill you boost your ride. so just stay stock.

adding bigger injectors is just going to make you run rich if just add them. Now if you get your PCM tuned for higher octane fuel and use bigger injectors and get it tuned right, you might squeeze out some more power.

But I would go with a chipped PCM before bigger injectors.

Don't touch your injectors. Adding larger ones will necessitate extensive tuning to make the car idle/run correctly. There is no reason to change them unless you're running boost or wild cam/internal work and maxing them out.

FYI- bosch spark plugs are HORRIBLE (read: JUNK) for the 60* v6...

you would be much better off with stock AC Delco, autolite, NGK, or Denso...

the FYI should really be that any multi-negative side spark plug is a waste and a gimmick... you can only get one spark at a time

would boring .030 over and adding comp cams stage II cam and 3500 heads require an injector upgrade?

Ive been pricing parts lately...so far im looking at over a grand to build my dream NA 3400...thats not including the price of a shop to do the bottom end work (boring/honing/balancing)

while I agree with your statement I have known quite a few vw owners that swear they are great for their motors (maybe cause of head design).. I dont really care about vdubs cause I would rather see gm owners winning at the track ;) so I cant really say there is any truth to their claims but since there are so many that I know of I just figured it would be best to give the info I know to be factual than to make a broad statement that may have been proven wrong at a later date.

DomestikDemon- I was unaware that Comp made a cam for the 3400.. do you have a link?

yeah I guess I should have specified more... I mean, i find it to be a gimmick in sale anyway, but ultimately these GM motors LOVE the ac delco plugs, so your theory on head design could hold true... just as NKG or NGK or whatever is held on a pedistal for hondas

http://www.engine-parts.com/GMV6/28camspecs.html

It was Crane Cams, not Comp...anyway I couldnt find it on theyre website a long time when I looked, but Im gonna go look again real quik

ok im a tard....when I looked the first time I looked for a 3400 specifically, but as we all know, if it fits any of the other 60 degree motors, it will fit ours. I looked under 1990 i think, butanyway heres what I got...theyre a couple items down the list

Camshafts for beloved 3400 (http://www.cranecams.com/index.php?show=browseParts&lvl=2&prt=5&Vehicle_Type=Auto&Cylinders=6&Engine_Make=CHEVROLET&Year=1992&Engine_Size=2.8-3.1%20L)

thanks for all the help guys. It looks like i won't be buying any injectors for my car, but what else can I really do? besides supercharge it, that's just too expensive. Now i'm not cheap when it comes to buying performance parts for my car, but when it starts costing thousands of dollars, that's where i draw the line. I would really like to put a set of underdrive pulleys on it but they are just impossible to find for my motor. if anyone knows where some can be found please let me know. but again what else can i do to my car for more power? i'm running short on ideas

http://www.milzymotorsports.com/ has a performance package for the 3400 that is $1700 after the core refund. It has ported heads and intake manifolds, cam, and PCM. Should still work with the stock injectors.
