Any suggestions on how to get a weird whitish, cloudy haze off of my back bumper? I thought it was frying out in the sun (that's what most everything does in FL), but I can scratch it with my fingernail and, underneath the haze, it seems ok. Maybe it's just what GM red paint does? I've tried to pay attention to other 2001 Red Grand Ams, but some have been covered in garages, so I'm not sure if it's a universal thing (with all GM red cars) or not.

This is a long shot but........has the bumper ever been repainted?.......that you know of?

Ive worked on a few cars that where clear coated paints and sometimes i find a bumper or fender that is base coat or single stage paint.

Would you be able to put some *cleaner wax* on a wax applicator and rub a small spot vigorusly and report back? Let us know if the color of the car transfered to the applicator.

Basicly i need to know if its clear coated or single stage/base coat.

Ok. Yep, I'll try that and report back. I just hand waxed it a couple of weekends ago. I started by washing it really good, used a cleaner polish, then waxed it. It looks really nice, and the water beads (my favorite part), but the bumper looks like poo :(

Thanks :)

Make sure to use a cleaner wax and not just a pure wax.
