I was driving to work this morning and as I went under the Grand Island Bridge in NY I heard this loud bang! I thought that maybe a rock came off the overpass on bridge and hit the windshield, but I was looking more upward at the time and I didn't see anything. When I got out of the car at work I notice a wonderful 9" crack in the glass. I was more thankful that it didn't hit my hood because it probably could of really damaged the work I did to it this past spring.

If you have full coverage call them and see if you can get it replaced for free!!! Happened to me except my crack was about 2 ft. Certain states have different laws covering how much insurance can cover.

It's kind if funny, I was just saying to my wife last week that I need a new windshield because I have a ton of little chips just from everyday driving. I have to contact my insurance tomorrow and see what's covered. I'm almost positive that I have full glass.

Even if you dont have full glass (I didnt) it will depend on your state insurance laws. Regardless that is pretty funny.
Mine had a TON of small chips in it also and made it really really hard to see at dusk.

I remember 3 days ago I was driving under a run-down bridge and just as I was coming out the other end a big ass bolder looking rock fell off the top of the bridge and almost hit my car. Luckly I wasnt driving fast so I was able to surve out of the way of the rock but that thing was pretty freakin big. If I would of got hit couldnt I have called the city up and made them pay for the damages right?

They probably would tell you you're sol, I'm just glad it didn't hit the hood or even the sun roof. That would suck if I cracked that!

Now I get a nice new piece of glass to look out once I get it fixed!
Had that happened to mine a couple of months ago, only its the entire windshielf cracked in half
Isn't in my line of site right now, so it will not be replaced till the fall

New glass will be nice, I'll just have to see what happens with my insurance.

When my windsheild got messed up they only offered to have it repaired. And That's worse than mine was and mine wasn't repairable, so I had to pay for my own windshield. Hopefully the laws are different there so you get one for free. I just replaced mine a year ago and over the weekend a rock flew up and chipped my windshield.

I'm calling today and see what they say.
That sucks. I came out to my car to see a big crack in it last week. I rock must have hit right below the passenger wiper, then cracked up and towards the drivers side probably a foot long. I still haven't called the insurance co. yet to get it replaced. A few years ago I had a rock hit my T/A window and they replaced it for free...I'm hoping they still have the same policy.

That's what I'm hoping, I haven't put a claim in on a windshield in years and I can't remember what the policy is.

I just called my insurance agent and I have full glass coverage with no deductable. All I have to do is call up this number that she gave me and set up a time to have someone come out and replace it free of charge!
