why are Kuhmo Ecstas cheap? i heard nothing but good things about them. and if i continue by Friday, i will be getting a set of (4) brand new 235/40/18 Kuhmo Ecsta tires for $367 shipped to my door. i know theyre better then the cheap nangkang and wanli brands, but just wondering why they dont cost that much.

pretty much im asking anyone had problems with Kuhmo? let me know, thanks. this should be my last questions about tire brands hahaha lol

They aren't bad for the money, but I'm not all that fond of them. They are a tad slick in the rain, bad in snow, and don't grip much in cold weather. Somehow I tore an irregular wear pattern beating on them around ramps near my place... there was a chunk missing showing steel belts and it had to be replaced to get home. Not awful tires, but I won't ever be getting them again.

i had them on my grand am and loved them. in the rain they performed better than the more expensive Falken Ziex. Id buy Kuhmo ecsta again in a heart beat. I did like my Falken Azenis tires better, but i never drove those in the rain.

I've found them to be a good summer only tire. As for price, they sell well and thus can be produced in large volumes which brings the price down. The less production of a given size, the higher the price. I run snows on my stock wheels for winter.

I had them on the 17's on my 01 and will never ever ever get them again. I took it easy and they still did not last very long at all. And they also wore very wierd and car was aligned.

I've got them on my stock rims on my 02 GT1 and I've never had a problem with them. I'm into my second summer with them on and no wear problems or anything. I switch to Toyo Proxxes in the winter months and they're INCREDIBLE tires for the Canadian winter weather! I will agree with one comment about the Kumho's, they can be slick in the rain, but I find only if I'm stopped on a slight incline...

Don't use them in winter since you're in the North.

I have them on my car for the summer only. I don't really have complaints about them, but I've never had them on the car in winter conditions. I have a completely different set of rims/tires for the winter.

ive got them and they are great to my knowledge after a few thousand miles, i live in GA so we never have cold weather or snow, and when it does snow the entire state shuts down and we call FEMA for help. as for rain, i dont tell a diffrence between stock and kumho, partly because i drive like a grandma in the rain.

i wound up getting NAngkang NS-II 225/40/18s and they are GREAT in the rain and dry. they look nice and thick with enough rubber and all. the tread pattern is cool too. i know these are cheap performance tires, but im NEVER drivin my rims in the snow. actually im goin to look at a $200 88 Camry to use for winter lol

Ouch... I don't recommend any Chinese tires. Many on the B15 Sentra forums didn't like those. The Kuhmo's would have been a better choice.

I assume you've never tried any high-end tires, have you?

I wouldn't say they are bad in snow or rain,my first season with my Kuhmo Ecsta ASX's I drove in snow with them(my 18's) and I never slid once, might have been the wider wheel over stock that helped that.

Im on my 2nd season with them and tread is still good. Have rotated them. Prolly will be getting new tires over the winter or next spring
