Hey everyone! I need ideas for my 1994 grand am gt 2-door. its arrest me red and has a V6. What are some good modifications for it that are relatively cheap. I kinda thought about new headlights or tailights. The car is completely stock. I also thought about a new sound system...I had an idea for the headlights...any more ideas to make it look good or perform better?

Geez guys.. how bout some constructive criticism :shake:

Try loking around the board.. Big Joe would be a big hlp.. he has your same generation.. You can clear the GT tails, and put LEDs in there.. Tint the wnidows, rims, lower it...

I'd skip on headlight brows. In fact, leave the headlights alone - I've yet to see anything on a 92-95 that looks better than stock.

If you're looking for something appearance-wise, keep it subtle. For example, change or vinyl over the red body molding stripe. Black looks nice.

Listen to this girl she knows whats shes talking about.

As Matt said leave the headlights alone. Theres really not much a beginner is going to be able to do, best idea is to stay stock. Tail lights are different story, you can clear them, thats always good fun. Other then that I'd say debadge it and maybe some tint?

Since the clear tails are mentioned... easy to do but do your homework first. It's nearly impossible to keep working red bulbs in there (color fades) and I had all kinds of LED problems leading me to give up on that.

Add loud exhaust and move to Philly / south Jersey... then it's "pull me over and give me at least 5-7 tickets a year red" :(

Since I've seen a red two door like this rolling around my area, Ill tell you what I see. This kid has lowered it and tinted it and let me tell you it REALLY sets that car off. If anything.. do those two things first.. and in that order, you wont regret it.

if you do clear the tails you need to find the bulbs with japanese writing on them. the glass is red and wont fade

the ones in this package are the best. try to fond these. i never had an issue with any of my clear lenses. they do come in red

ok Joe is your best bet for ideas because his done the most with his 94. I would say clear the tail lights(free + price for LEDs), Paint your interior parts(Price of paint), and a sound system(shoot for the sky) Is probly what you want to go with first. Keep the rims they look good. and if you want to try something get some red reflective tape and put it over the reflectors. thats just some Ideas, its your car so its your choice to go stock or go crazy.

Any bright red is "Pull me Over". The same with Black. Alot of insurance companies will charge more if your car is red or black. If you have a white car, it tends to be cheaper to insure. Black and that bright red are seen as "Sporty" colors to both the Police and the Insurance companies... so a red or black car tends to catch the eye of a cop more than one of another color.

Now my color is the grocery getter red, which is more of a deeper color red, more like a burgudy/maroon style red.

This site has a few of those bulbs for sale, pretty good prices too. Not sure what size bulb would be needed for where, but I'm sure Joe could help you, or maybe your owners manual can help.

I may be bitter, but I don't really care for straight clear tails. Either mold some red lenses inside the housing or leave em stock.

I think that's a good example of what not to do.

If they were to be cleared I think they would look best with some trailer lights wired into them. I purchased these for my trailer. They are 4" dual intensity LEDs and were only $12.99 each from Harbor Freight. Last time I was at Advanced Auto they wanted the same thing for $26.99 each.

the paint job would be ok but the rims no. Im think of subtle changes and not a gawker. Ill save that for my second car.
