so i noticed over the summer i could get about 10 days on a tank of gas for going to and from work. this week has been sooooooo damn hott and i noticed that i am almost on E and i filled up monday. could this be because of the extreme heat or is it time for a new O2 sensor and new plugs again?

How many miles did it get you?

I've noticed the huge difference in mileage and performance when it crazy hot...obviously. So hopefully that's all it is. I don't get very good gas mileage in the summer here, I've noticed.

Yeah, I ran my car with the A/C on and drove about 20-40 miles last night + today and it seems my gas went down about close to a 1/4th in about 24 hours.
I just put new plugs in so when I get down to almost E I'll fill up again and see how many miles I get with the new plugs in and then I'll let everyone know including you. Although that may take at least 2 weeks.

I get the same Chris, hopefully these new spark plugs help me out a little. If not then I'm going to change out the Front O2 and if that doesn't work then I'm beginning to think maybe my Cat is bad.

i just did a search on gas mileage cause mine has been so bad lately too and its funny that you all are having the same problem. last summer i was getting 24-27 mpg (310 miles per tank) and now this summer i'm getting 20-23 mpg and its pissin me off. i dont get it, i know the gas in the winter is made different to last in the cold weather which gets you worse gas mileage but does the hot weather really have a lot to do with it? any other posibilities?

Well I had around half a tank when I had the plugs changed along with the FPR so I didn't figure the mileage of having the new plugs + wires. But after filling up this time it came out to around 16.85 MPG which absolutely sucks with a bunch of that being highway.
They said my O2s were good after doing the resistance tests on them. I wonder if I should go have them changed out anways along with the EGR or something.

Stop throwing money at parts, especially an O2 sensor that has been 'tested' (though I don't kow how accurate that 'resistance test can be, since O2 sensors don' work by 'resistance').
Your crummy fuel milage isn't a maintenance issue, even though we're generally discussing the issue here in the 'Maintenance' forum.
Let's take the discussion over to 'Problems and Solutions' and identify the other symptoms/determine the reason for poor milage.
Thanks,

Hey man, I'm in Brentwood right off of 40 @ McKnight Rd. exit. Right before the construction thankfully!
