Well, yesterday I had my car taken in to have the tires looked at. One of them kept getting low and I still have warranty on them, so wanted to figure out what was going on.
They took off the front tires said it was because of corrosion (sorry I can't spell today) on the rim and it was forcing air out of the tires. Dunno if that is correct, but they look pretty full today.
Anyway, moving on. I had asked if the front roters or the tie rod was bad on the car and they said no. I had shaking when I brake from high speeds. He said he believes it's in the back. So he looks at the back end. Confirms it is the drums?
So I start the car this morning, driving along and the TRAC OFF light comes on. The button is activated so I am unsure of why it is coming on. Something to do with what they did yesterday maybe? Ideas would be cool. Thanks!

Usually you'll get a "TRAC OFF" light when it senses a problem in
the ABS system, with out necessarily setting off a ABS light.
just fixed a problem on my brother in laws '96, he had a low voltage reading
on his one wheel sensor. and it would kick off his trac control

I would hope that they pulled the tire off the rim, cleaned the rust/corrosion off the rim and reinstalled it. It should not be leaking air anymore.
If your trac off light has not been on before, yes they did FU. Probably just the plug was disconnected and not replaced or they bumped/pulled, etc and it is not now making contact.
Take it back and make um fix it.

Alright... so that same day the light went off but the check engine light came on... then that turned off and the trac light came back on... that turned off and the security light turned on... turned off car... restarted. No lights for a day now. Wtf?

In your other thread regarding batteries and alternators, I recommended the complete battery cable cleaning procedure.
have you done this yet??
Your present Trac Control problem may indeed be relative to something they did.
But generally, TC is associated with FRONT wheel-speed sensors (not rearrs, where they were working).
Except, it also is associated with the position of the handbrake handle (there's a little switch int he bse of the handle, and when pulled, it sets the drum parking brake; it also disables the Trac Control and Daytime Running Lights.
So if your handbrake isn't fully down (or the switch thinks it's not down), then Trac Control will go 'off'.
None of this explains the SES light (you don't have an actual 'Check Engine' light).
Even though the light has gone 'off', the computer has stored the codes.
It will keep them for about 30 'on-off' cycles of the key, so go to any AutoZone/Checker/etc. and see what codes are lingering.
Remeber, GA's do stoopid things when the electrical power isn't perfect.
Hope this helps,

I'm replacing the cables and everything this week... well up coming week. The car is getting a full maintenance thing. Tune up, brakes, etc. I know it doesn't have the "Check Engine" light I just couldn't think of what it was called . I just knew it wasn't the other one... (I just woke up, late for work)
They were actually messing with the front AND the back. I went in for the front tires, but they checked the back to look for reasons of why it would shake when I brake from high speeds. They said my roters and tie rod looked fine up front. Back drums needed replaced or whatever. I wasn't the one that took the car in, I was working so I don't know EXACTLY what was said.
I'll get the code from the car tomorrow because I will be by Autozone. Last time it was a small evap leak or something like that. So I replaced the gas cap since it was loose.

Did you go to Sears? They're notorious for screwing things up so you'll go back and spend more money. When I didn't know better they told me I needed my drums replaced and the car was only a year old and I did it!

No it's Goodyear. My ex husband took it there in Feb to have new tires put on. So I took it back because of the warranty.

you still having shaking when braking? That sounds like it might be a drum issue...

not meaning to hi-jack this thread...but yeah Daman. I've had my GA for 6 years now, and didn't know about this website till last month :)
Wiseojelly..I would take the care somewhere else and let them look at it. Many places will check brakes/drums for FREE. Never hurts :)

It was just a "while I am there" question. I am buying the brakes and stuff next week to do it myself. I did it on my Cavy, so I wanna do the GA.
