The story of why I began a top engine tear down can be found here.

After completing the teardown, I didnt find anything major in the valvetrain, but the LIM gaskets kind of scared me. Would these be considered a "failure"? They were just replaced 5 months ago with the Felpro kit by a shop. :???:

I just recently purchased the other set available from Felpro, MS98003T, for our engines and the intakes look nothing like that. They are basically a steel shim with rubber (or other compound) for sealing around the passages. Costs more to. I ordered mine from the local NAPA store for $150 + Canadian.

I think it is a felpro set. I went to www.rockauto.com, and they look the same as pictured for Felpro set number MS90565.

The Felpro set with the updated gaskets is MS98003T.

These are definitely Felpro. They say felpro on them, and the ones I just replaced them with look the same as these. I wish I would have known about the "updated" version. :( The leak is fixed........for now I guess. Who knows how long this one will last.
