Nova Scotia Meet ~ September 15-16, 2007

OK, we are having a Meet as most of you already know but I would like to know who is going to be coming, so, please post up here is you are going to be here :) Basically, it will be similar is style to the Moncton Meet we have every year but we're going to have a BBQ at my house instead of eating out :) I have room enough in my basement for a pair of people to sleep and another room upstairs for another pair, if needed. I also have room enough in my backyard for a tent (or two if they're small) should someone want to camp. Anyway, have a couple of idea to throw out for people to consider. Basically, what I had in mind to do was ...

~ how about some pool (http://www.doolys.ca/lowersackville/)?? ... maybe Friday night or Saturday afternoon?

~ I know several people who would like to see some of the various Titanic displays here, so how about, Maritime Museum of the Atlantic (http://museum.gov.ns.ca/mma/index.html)?? ... figured this would be Saturday morning sometime.

~ maybe some Go Karts (http://www.kartbahn.ca/)?? ... again, could be either Friday night if people want to come early or Saturday (probably should make reservations for this).

~ quick stops maybe some time over the weekend? Halifax Citadel (http://www.pc.gc.ca/lhn-nhs/ns/halifax/index_e.asp) or Peggy's Cove (http://www.peggyscove.ca/)

~ basically, it is obvious we can't do EVERYTHING listed above but I am sure we can do most but I need to know what people think ... if you want something different, let me know ... either way, I might need to make reservations (Dooly's or Go Karts probably) ... if you need information on Hotels, let me know as there are some close by.

We vote for cheap stuff (IE pool & peggys cove) go karts is crazy awesome fun, but too expensive for our budget right now.... considering we will burn close to 65 in gas just driving down to halifax, around halifax a bit, and back home :)

Have not been to Peggys cove in a while though, so that would be cool :)

Alright, understand the budget constraints Dan (we all have them :D) ... anyway, so, how about Maritime Museum, Citadel and Peggy's Cove no specific times through Saturday morning and early afternoon ... then so pool/drinks at Dooly's late afternoon ... finally, BBQ at my place (which is actually within 5-10 minutes walk from Dooly's if anyone wants to park the car at my place so they can drink ;) :D) ... sound good? ... what about Friday night, anyone be here or interested? ... no pressure, just want to be oblige if there was interest ... also, Sunday morning? ... what about breakfast at Smitty's (or similar)? ... again, just making suggestions ... either way, lets finalize the Saturday activities so I can make reservations for a couple tables at Dooly's :)

Seriousley... you could even just travel to Moncton, then leave your car at my house and travel with Trina & I down to Halifax... and either stay at Kelly's, or I am sure my parents would not say no :)

free stay in Moncton, free stay in Halifax, and cheap travel to & from Halifax :)

OK, unfortunately, it appears that it is going to rain :( ... everyone is still welcome and of course, we can still drive to Peggy's Cove or Citadel Hill if you want (some of us will be in their truck though if it rains :lol: :D) ... anyway, we can still have a BBQ and eat inside and "shoot the shit" or watch movies (I have 400+ so there should be at least something that will please everyone) ... or, if all of the above sounding boring, I am completely open to suggestions ... sorry guys/girls, the impending rain that I have been watching for the past couple days and my patheric lack of being able to determine what optional things to do might make this event somewhat crappy :(

So, with that said, who is coming and when?? :lol: ... I assume nobody is coming tomorrow night but I could be mistaken ... no matter as I will be here regardless and of course, there will be brew-skis (or whatever) available :) ... also, just to break the ice sort of speak, if anyone wants to alter the plans (big or small) or make it another weekend, speak up.

Actually. This thread/discussion is why I logged on tonight. Anyway. I'm up for almost anything, and would enjoy meeting a few people. Too bad about the rain though. Makes for a shitty Saturday....Which kinda screws the weekend.
As for events. I'm kinda stumped. If Saturday were fine, a voyage on the harbor hopper could be fun. Or....Chartering a boat out of eastern passage.
Perhaps a picnic/hike on McNabs island? (if possible)

Well, we a somewhat of a subdued meet due to the rain but did have a GREAT TIME!!!! ... thanks to Dan & Katrina, Shawn & Karen, Adrian, Stacy and Jaden (sorry bud if I spelled your name wrong) along with my wife Paula for giving me an enjoyable day :) ... basically, we met and headed out to Peggy's Cove in the anticipation of it being somewhat storming ... of course, Mother Nature didn't disappoint us with tremendous winds and a TON of rain :lol: but it was awesome wandering around the rocks, felt like a kid again :lol: ... anyway, we headed back towards home later in the afternoon and then went out for some eats as a local restaurant (we intended to have a BBQ but with a bad weather decided against it) followed up by some pool @ Dooley's which also was a great amount of fun ... then, we all came back to my place and crashed in front of the big screen and watched a movie :)

Good times, good friends and good memories ... that is all anyone needs :)

I enjoyed meeting everyone. It was a good group of people. It was to bad we already had plans for Saturday night. We don't get many weekends off, because of all the sports in which Jaylen is involved. I was nice to do something like that. It was just what we needed.
