After i take off the moldings or ribbing theres some bracket things held on by double sided tape but theres also a couple held on with screws and there will be a couple or so holes after i take them all off.....Whats the best way to filling those in and painting them? Weld them closed and prime and paint? Any thoughs or ideas would be appreciated:)

You got it! Welding is the only way to do it permanently.

Great, then you prob already know to make sure there's no undercoating on the backside & keep the panel cooled as much as possible w/ water. I'm getting rid of the buck rogers looking wing on the trunk inna few weeks & will be welding some holes shut myself. Gotta be carefull, that sheet metal will warp up real quick! Incase your wondering, I've got a JSP touring wing I'm putting on as soon as I finish my warbird hood.

the touring style hu? I was wondering what that would look like on a GA,i think it would look good, over those alum wings, more sportier and flows smooth with most cars.Let me know how it looks and any pics if you can:)

GrafxWerks makes plugs for them...they're unique.

wow,old thread,haha......Well since this thread ive decided to get the AED door panels and side skirts to get rid of the molding/ribbing since they go right over and use the brackets. But those plugs are a good idea though:) dunno about possible rusting though since those holes aren't painted inside.

did u have an se or a gt?
if u had an se ure going to have to get the GT clips from the dealer (not required) but they help a shitload in keeping the pieces connected to the car

I have a SE but the side skirts(stock) had clips already and the molding had these brackets as well that are on the door, not the molding pieces.
can get pics if needed to show what Im talking about. But the brackets that the molding snaps on to are like light green plastic then the part thats on the door is held on with 2 screws and then like 4 brackets. My AAS side skirts don't use the stock clips and had to mount them myself, did a good job but I want to get rid of the ribbing so AED is my only way to get rid of it.
Oh,do the side skirts and door panels need prep work after I recive them? or can they get painted right away? Just wondering cuz right now Im doing all the body work myself and need something to paint:D
